RadiciGroup is one of the world leaders in fibres sector. One of the group’s strong points is the synergistic vertical integration of its polyamide production chain.
Noyfil is one of the RadiciGroup’s sites where raw white polyester yarns are produced, doped and dyed for weaving and knitwear. Central to the production processes at this site is an air compressor driven by a 400 kW motor, running at high speed most of the time in the on/off mode.

Noyfil was aware that the type of control applied was inefficient and called Sangasoft Engineering to find a solution. Sangasoft designed, manufactured and installed a high power inverter with a calculated payback time of less than one year.

Solution

Sangasoft made an initial site survey and provided a full specification and price breakdown for providing new drive systems and predicted energy savings. The site survey included recording the operating hours, the rated speed, current and duty cycle. Installation of the Omron G5 (400kW) inverter took place in August during Noyfil’s holidays, thus avoiding any costly downtime.
